Are you looking for a seaside escape to Mystic, Connecticut? Look no further than Portside Guest House hosted by Wendy. I met her a few years ago through her shop in Noank Shipyard. I fell in love with her coastal farmhouse decor, she has inspired me to decorate my home similarly!

Stay Portside

When Wendy opened Portside Guest House on the second floor of her home, I saw through photos on social media that it has similar coastal farmhouse details as her her shop. I knew it would be just as gorgeous! The best part? Most of the furnishings/decor that you see at Stay Portside can be purchased at her shop!

The newly renovated space has a living room, four bedrooms, a kitchen/laundry room and outdoor porch with river views. When I visited the Portside Guest House, I was stunned at how gorgeous the space is. It felt very light and open, the smell of Farm + Sea diffusers through out the space makes you feel like you’re right by the water (which you are!!). From three of the bedrooms, you can see water views.

The living room is the main center of the Guest House… and my favorite room. Comfy couches let you lounge around and read a good book or magazine. There are workspace desks in the master bedroom, but I liked the table in the living room. It is behind the couch, probably often used as dining table but it was also a good space for working. Especially for someone like me who often have papers laid out around my laptop!

I also love the convenience of doing laundry right there on site. The machines are in the kitchen. The kitchen came completed with a stove/oven, fridge, microwave and sink. I like how I had the option to cook if I didn’t feel like going out to the restaurants. This is also helpful for those who have food allergies as you can cook your own food. Hot tip… Mystic Market West is close by and they sell a lot of great ready-to-cook meals that you can pop into the oven.

The Portside Guest House would be perfect for a girls weekend, a romantic getaway, traveling with couple friends and more. Another hot tip: this space is very photogenic… so think of staying here if you have to do a photo shoot (bridal suite, etc.)!

The property is the ideal location as it is within walking distance of Downtown Mystic. You don’t have to worry about parking! This Airbnb comes with two parking spaces in the driveway. Only 10 minute walk to Sift Bake Shop, 2 minute walk to Mystic Market West.

Shop Portside

Wendy owns a coastal home furnishing shop that recently moved from Noank Shipyard to Downtown Mystic. It is located in the building next door to Engine Room (a really good restaurant - delicious burgers!). In the shop, you will find beautiful coastal farmhouse home decor items, furnishings, bath and body items and more gifts.

One of my favorite products from her shop is the Farm + Sea candles. The candles have the most beautiful coastal scents! I have gifted these candles to my family and friends and it’s always been a hit.

I love how you can buy a memory from here to remember your stay at Portside Guest House. I fell in love with the coastal rugs and saw samples at the shop. Wendy has a design center where she will help you plan and customize your purchases - color, pattern, size, etc.

Wendy is very friendly and helpful. She strives to provide personalized customer service that you can’t find anywhere else. I can attest to that as I’ve shopped many times there. Sometimes you may see her adorable yellow lab named Hooper in the shop (or at Portside Guest House in the yard)!

Thank you Wendy, for the opportunity to visit Portside Guest House. All opinions are my own.
