Cottrell Brewing Co.

Shortly after Thanksgiving it was announced on Facebook that our favorite brewery, Cottrell Brewing Co. was examining all of their options to continue their wonderful journey into the future. They are located in back of a warehouse in Pawcatuck, CT. The brewery had been there for 25+ years. The closure comes as a shock to many and disappointment with the owners of the building who wants to use the space for something else.

The brewery looked into other options, but 2 months notice to move out didn’t give sufficient time. I recently went there for their beer case sales as they are approaching near the end of their time in the space. All of the memories flooded back. My dad is the one who is a huge fan of Cottrell, especially his favorite beer, Old Yankee Ale.

We visited the tap room one day many years ago and had such a great time that we ended up coming back EVERY time that my parents were in town visiting from Upstate NY. The environment there always had been laid back, friendly people and good beer!

Almost 90% of our visits to the taproom, Shelly had been bartending. She quickly became someone we enjoyed to see. She made us feel like we were old friends! Shelly, we will miss seeing you a lot! Good luck with your next chapter (and congratulations on the engagement!!).

Here are some memories of Cottrell Brewing Co. Thank you for all of the memories!
